Public Enterprise Elektroprivreda of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sarajevo (EPBIH) is a public utility for power generation, distribution, supply of electricity, trading, and also deals in representation and mediation in domestic market of electricity and export and import of electricity, power system managing and other activities defined by the Statute and registered in the court with the aim of gaining profit. It is a joint stock company, where 10% of shares belong to Private Investment Funds and small individual shareholders, but 90% of shares remained in ownership of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. EPBIH has 5.013 employees with total annual turnover of € 464.060.000 in year 2008. EP BIH serves with electricity more than 670 thousands of tariff customers in seven cantons in Federation of B&H.

According to Quality policy and strategic goals, determined in policy acts and investment plans of EPBIH, several activities on wind energy integration have already been started and future plans comprises also the investments in generation capacities based on renewable energy sources. Department for Strategic Development in EPBIH also covers the activities on project investments in generation capacities based on renewable energy sources. Currently, new activities on installation of wind potential measurement data collections are enrolling.

Participant’s role:

EPBIH, with a group of experts involved in this Project, will participate in WP 8 – Site Development and WP 10 – Construction of Pilot Wind Turbines with its best knowledge and capabilities, as well as in other WP regarding the complete Project organisation. Participants from EPBIH will act in monitoring and participation in all preparations and work fulfilment at the chosen locations and will also contribute in covering the aspects related to site development, the construction and operation of the pilot wind turbines.
