The Federal Meteorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a legal successor of the Re-public Yugoslavia Hydro-Meteorological Institute which has been established 1947. In 1994 Bosnia and Herzegovina became a full member of World Meteorological Organization, and the General Director Mr Enes Sarac becomes the first Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina with WMO. The Institute has 105 employees sixty of them working in the central office in Sarajevo.<\/p>\n
The Institute has six main departments: 1) weather watch, 2) applied meteorology, 3) hydrology, 4) ecology, 5) seismology and 6) astronomy. It runs different measurements in meteorological, hydrological and seismological network.<\/p>\n
Participant\u2019s role:<\/h3>\n
In the project the Meteo BiH will bring its knowledge about the local wind systems (Bora and Scirocco) in the region, will participate in the measurements and will contribute to the dissemination of the project\u2019s results through their network and with presentations during the annual meeting of the European Meteo Institutes. The Institute will cooperate with the wind turbine operating companies Adria Wind Power, Masurica d.o.o. and Vjetroenergetika d.o.o. and further with DEWI, Energiewerkstatt and Meteotest in the meso-scale simulation and the wind measurements at the project sites.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
